As an adult now, with at least one of my 4 children having ADHD, I too was diagnosed with it. I am 33 years old! I have struggled with eating disorders since I was NINE (9) years old. The first dose of medication really did not work, I was tired, my antidepressant was not working (at all) and the whole day was a struggle with depression and the urge to binge (and therefore purge). The drug I had taken was Vyvanse. The next drug I tried was Concerta, I have never felt this "normal" in my entire life. I can eat a reasonable amount when I am hungry, I can stop at eating ONE donut or bowl of icecream, I then started looking for the correlation between eatingdisorders, depression and girls with ADHD. My whole life has been a constant struggle, and this one pill each day makes my life so wonderful, I could cry and laugh at the same time with the wonders of the real world that I see now. Thank you for doing this research, it will make so many lives easier for the girls that struggle with the feelings from starving helping them feel better, the feelings of eating tons of sugar making them feel better, and the vomiting high making them feel better. Those are each very short lived. This medication has completely changed my life, I now hope I live at least another 33 years and that I can enjoy each day eating disorder free. (its been 5 months now)
