The average American consumes 1.92 lbs of MSG a year (300 million pounds as a country), much of this comes from trace amounts of MSG. I, personally, try to avoid even &quot;trace&quot; amounts of MSG. 

There are a lot of known issues regarding the consumption of processed, unfermented soy:

Dr Kaayla Daniel has a great book called The Whole Soy Story. She reports that hundreds of epidemiological, clinical and laboratory studies link soy to:
Malnutrition
Digestive distress
Thyroid dysfunction
Cognitive decline
Reproductive disorders
Infertility
Birth defects
Immune system breakdown
Heart disease
Cancer

There are also many myths about soy The Weston A Price Foundation has a few excellent articles about the dangers of soy:

But in pregnancy you don&#039;t want angiogenesis inhibition. The sorbitol will not be much in a tablet and will not be a problem, glycerin can also be made from plants, and gelatin in a tablet will not be much, just binding the stuff. Don&#039;t think that will be a relevant source of MSG. Better ask a naturopathic doctor before you start swallowing supplements. And the best thing to do is start before you will be pregnant, see preconceptional care, in the U.K. There was a beautiful study about preconceptional care done by a group called Foresight.</description>

		<description>I think this is an interesting poll because it is certainly reflective of my own behavior.  I would buy healthy food to eat normally but i would buy processed food to binge on.  It is not easy to binge on healthy food, but even a taste of fatty foods would make me want to binge.  It is much easier not to binge if there is no food of that kind around but i used to buy binge food &quot;just in case&quot; and then always end up binging.
