Cruise to Lose
You’ve finally admitted that the Bulimia has taken over your life and you want it to stop, but you can’t. You’ve come close, been in and out of treatment, been on every diet, but nothing works.
The research is clear. What works in the treatment of eating disorders is Intensive OutPatient Treatment (IOP) plus family involvement, plus Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT.) Traditional residential treatment has about a 27% success rate. Our results are better. Based upon a review of patients at the Norton Center from 2004 to 2008, the inclusion of family members in treatment along with DBT training and the option of IOP, brought the success rate with severe cases of Anorexia, Bulimia, Bulimarexia and Binge Eating Disorder to over 80% at 12 month follow up. - Dr. J. We’re here to help! Sail away with us and leave your Eating Disorder behind!
Each traveler on the journey to wellness MUST be accompanied by a family member, or significant other, who is 21 years of age or older!
Your chaperone must be willing to be with you every moment that you are not in a structured activity with the group, to insure you that you have 14 days of being binge and purge free.
Meals and Snacks
You will be eating snacks and meals customized to your individual metabolic needs. Your resting metabolism rate (RMR) will be measured on the first day of the trip. The meals will be scientifically designed for maximum nutritional benefit and deliciousness. Your weight will be tracked daily and decisions about what you will eat that day will be based upon the progress you are making towards achieving your goals. Finally, to insure that you leave the ship healthier than you have ever been, you will be getting daily fitness training along with a variety of other activities, such as Salsa, Yoga, Kickboxing, and Pilates to get you into the habit of working out regularly and truly enjoying it.

And there is no cruise ship, no private dining, and no Salsa dancing or sun-bathing! Nor does it include accommodations for a family member. Of course the most important piece is that we get results. It’s a no-brainer! (Contact us for help with insurance reimbursement.)
