Services

Finding the right treatment program and/or the right therapist is critical to the success of any treatment program. Shop around until you are comfortable with the philosophy and background of a prospective therapist. Make sure that you (or your child) feel comfortable. Don’t be afraid to interview several people before making your choice. Look for comprehensiveness in terms of services offered and flexibility in terms of how services are delivered.

Here at the Norton Center, we offer evening and weekend hours, individual, group, and family therapy as well as nutritional guidance and refeeding or coaching for a healthy lifestyle.

>> HabiTrack: RMR & Food Analysis

HabiTrack is an effective, accurate metabolic monitoring and nutritional analysis system. It provides you with the information you need to manage your weight, whether you are re-feeding, losing or maintaining. It is customized specifically for you and it works!

The approach combines Mindfullness (identifies the triggers for dysfunctional eating/restricting patterns) and family systems-based psychotherapy (identifies impact of familial patterns that help or hinder the client’s progress)

>> Group Therapy

We offer several different groups; a standing support group for Bulimic and Bulimarexics, a Parent’s Support Group, and a Nutrition/Refeeding Informational Group.
>> Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an empirically supported treatment that focuses on patterns of thinking that are maladaptive and the beliefs that underlie such thinking...While the person in distress likely holds such beliefs with great conviction, with a therapist’s help, the individual is encouraged to view such beliefs as hypotheses rather than facts and to test out such beliefs by running experiments.
