No Sew Coronavirus Mask

How to make a mask from an old shirt

My Wi-Fi is down apparently. 23 blocks of Wi-Fi are down in my neighborhood. I usually don’t do the surveys  they ask you to do to rate your satisfaction. I generally don’t have time or can’t commit to being available for a phone call. But in the age of coronavirus, especially at 5 o’clock in the morning, I had nothing else to do and so I did the survey. I’ve decided that I’m going to do surveys from now on because it provides  good feedback to the company and support for customer service workers who are doing a good job.

This morning I’m going to show you how to make a mask from a T-shirt. I was able to make two very functional masks by using an old shirt. Since I don’t I don’t have any T-shirts anymore, (old lady arms) I just used a shirt that I never wear. After I hacked it up, I realized it was a 100% organic cotton shirt. I got it at whole foods.

Anyway  the masks are supremely comfortable and 100% organic cotton! I am sending pictures that I believe are self-explanatory. The last picture is a picture of me wearing my mask. Do not make fun! When I took this picture my hot water heater was out and it was definitely a day past when I needed to wash my hair LOL

So first you cut off about seven or 8 inches at the bottom of the shirt. I did that twice so I was able to make two masks. Then from the side seam you cut out about a 6 inch rectangle. I saved that and use that as an additional liner for the mask. I even put some cheesecloth in there not that that really did much good. You could also put a coffee filter in that space and it be particularly easy to do if you use the little insert that I used. If you are going to buy coffee filters to do this, I would suggest that they buy the unbleached natural ones.

Then you just cut one of the seams on the two ends that you have and those are your ties! Pretty cool right?

So no excuses, you don’t even need a sewing machine or a sewing needle. You’re all set 🙂
